Finding Peace in Wild Places

Allyson Peake Gibson

I am a nature photographer based in Utah, with roots in rural South Carolina and a lifelong love for the outdoors. Some of my earliest memories are of wandering through forests, exploring creeks, and noticing the quiet beauty tucked into ordinary places. That sense of wonder still guides my work today.

My photography is inspired by the peace, patience, and perspective that come from spending time in nature. Whether I am waiting for soft light on a canyon wall, watching for the movement of wildlife, or standing beside a still mountain lake, I look for moments that feel honest, calm, and full of life.

By day, I work as an engineer, and I bring that same careful attention and steady focus to my photography. But for me, being outside with a camera is also a way to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what matters.

My hope is that each photograph offers a quiet reminder of the beauty, peace, and renewal found in wild places.
